Celebrate New York State’s Paths Through History at the 1890 House Museum! The living history troupe, Yesterdays Gentleman, brings New York’s tradition of mechanical invention and social innovation to Cortland in an exciting event for the whole family. Prominent figures take you back to 1902 – a year of transition and change for America. The excess of the Gilded Age gave way to the Progressive Era, accompanied by an incredible amount of new technology, and social reforms. Adults and Children alike, will be captivated by the stories from Edison’s competitor Nikola Tesla, the most famous man you never heard of in the inventor George Westinghouse, the journalist/abolitionist/feminist/ Ida B. Wells, and the anti-child labor advocate Caroline Hills. Admission is free and food trucks will provide refreshments for purchase.
