CNY Maple Festival
When
Event has endedAs the winter season leaves us, it’s maple sugar season in Cortland County. The tapping of maple trees, some as old as the area itself, has been a tradition in Cortland County since the days of the Iroquois. Through the years, maple syrup production has provided income for area farmers, and has grown with the times and advances in technology. The Maple Festivals is made possible by the combined efforts of some 1000 people, many organizations, public bodies, and the Marathon Central School. Festival events include: The Annual Pancake Eating Challenge, helicopter flights, carnival rides, airboat rides, wood carving, and the train and quilt show.
